Submitting To The Will Of God

Introduction:
1. God has a will.
2. He has called us to follow that will
3. How do we go about accomplishing what he expects of us?

I. I must come to the point where I understand that I need to be led.
A. Man as he is:
   1. Made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26).
   2. With great intellect.
   3. Has been given divine potential (1 Jn. 3:1).
   4. But he is rebellious in nature (Ecc. 7:20; 2 Chron 6:36).
B. Man must realize (Jer. 10:23).
C. But God has a way. He must humble himself. Humbling is not selfish. Humbling is dependent of spirit (Acts 9:5f.). It realizes (1 Cor. 15:10)

II. Trusting in the Lord.
A. Our journey in life is one of faith (2 Cor. 5:7).
B. Our faith is not reckless abandonment of the heart without any thought or control.
C. It is a trust that leans step by step on God and his word (Prov. 3:5; Ps. 118:8, 9).
D. The necessity of our faith (Mk. 16:16; Jn. 3:16; 8:21-24).
E. The experience of faith-it must be lived (1 Tim. 4:10). It is a faith that knows who has the answers (1 Cor. 9:26).

III. Follow God’s every lead.
A. God leads by means of his word (Ps. 119:24). God desires that his mind and the mind of man be one. He truly desires man’s good.
B. Many look at the Bible and try to rationalize or justify their way.
C. We need the attitude of Ruth to Naomi or Samuel.
D. My responsibility-commit my….heart (Mt. 5:8), will, speech (Col. 4:6), hands, head, and steps (Eph. 4:1) to God. (1 Cor. 9:27; Jn. 12:25 Ps. 37:31).
E. Truly (Ps. 119:2; Lk. 11:27, 28).
