God's Commitment TO Man

Introduction:
1.     We talk about the commitment that we are to have toward God but does he have any commitment toward us?
2.     2 Chronicles 25:6-9.

I. He made a personal investment in us.
A.     God made man (Job 33:4). But he does not leave us alone.
B.     God’s investment in man-man falls short of where he needs to be and where God wants him to be (Ps. 130:3; Ecc. 9:3). But, because of God’s love (Rom. 5:8; 2 Cor. 13:11) he sees man as a profitable investment. He sent his son (Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 4:9; 3:16) to die on the cross (Jn. 10:11, 15) as a ransom (1 Tim. 2:6). This investment had a purpose (Gal. 1:4; 1 Thes. 5:9, 10).
C.     God’s continued investment today-blesses (Ps. 68:19).

II. He stays with me.
A.     Man’s tendency is to run away. i.e. John Mark, Peter, Demas, etc.
B.     God has promised his presence (Mt. 28:20; 1 Cor. 10:13; Ps. 121:3, 4). God does not run off (2 Tim. 4:16; Jn. 12:25).
C.      When I am in need he seeks to help. His unconditional love (Heb. 13:5).

III. He leads me.
A.     Man is a wanderer (Isa. 53:6 > 1 Pet. 2:25).
B.     God carries us. Promised (Ps. 32:8) by his word (Eph. 3:4; Ps. 73:24; 119:105). His commitment to me is that he has revealed the path for me to take (Jn. 14:6) and has given me instructions on how I must take it (Jn. 16:13; 1Jn. 2:14).

Conclusion:
Now what about your commitment to the Lord?
