Remember
Introduction: 1. God has given us the ability to remember. 2. This being Memorial Day weekend I would like to give you some things I believe you need to remember. Remember… I. You are of value/worth. A. How much are you worth? Some might say not much others a great deal. B. Man may say of himself-I am worthless. C. God says-you and I have value. He says… 1. You are my creation (Ps. 119:73; 100:3). 2. I love you (Titus 3:4). 3. I paid for you (Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 4:10; 1Cor. 6:20). II. How you came into this world. A. Job 1:21. B. We all need the proper perspective. C. We came into this world. We were given (Ps. 136:25). We will leave (1 Tim. 6:7; Ecc. 5:15). III. You are a child of the King. A. Jesus is King (Mt. 2:2; 1 Tim. 6:15). B. We are his children (Gal. 3:26). C. With such come benefits (Ps. 68:19), expectations (1 Tim. 6:14), and an inheritance (Rom. 8:15-17)>Eph. 2:7. IV. Things are as bright as the promises of God. A. Life gets old, routine, and boring. B. God has made promises to the: burdened (Ps. 42:5), parents (Prov. 22:6); teachers (1 Cor. 15:58), elders (1 Pet. 5:4), weary (Isa. 40:29), turmoil (Isa. 26:3), guilt ridden (Isa. 55:7). C. What ever your storm of life God has this promise (Prov. 3:5, 6). V. The resurrection of Christ. A. Told to remember (2 Tim. 2:8). B. A most transforming event for all mankind: It is the exclamation of the son of God (Rom. 1:4), forgiveness is available (Rom. 4:25); proof that our faith is not in vain (1 Cor. 15:17), and a promise of a resurrection for us (1 Cor. 15:20). C. Eyes fixed and a memory that beholds the resurrection to come we view life not as eternal (Jn. 14:19). Entered on 5/24/2009
