How Committed Are You To The Lord?

Introduction:
1.     God has called us to follow him.
2.     How committed are you? Committed Christians…

I. Honestly evaluate themselves.
A.     Lukewarm members look and compare themselves to others.
B.     Committed Christians (2 Cor. 13:5). He does not (1 Cor. 4:3, 4). Rather he (Hag. 1:7; Ps. 4:4).

II. Chooses God over the world.
A.     Lukewarm members have a personal conflict but will often choose what the world says.
B.     Committed Christians (Mt.6:33).

III. Act on what they find in the Bible.
A.     Lukewarm members are moved by the truth but tend not to act upon it.
B.     Committed Christians (Ja. 1:21, 22; 4:17: Mt. 21:28-31; Jn. 12:26).

IV. Put God in control of their lives.
A.     Lukewarm members give God lip service and not full control. God is a matter of convenience and not conviction.
B.     Committed Christians (Mt. 16:24; Gal. 2:20; Phil. 3:7-9).

V. Thinks about eternity.
A.     Lukewarm members focus on the daily grind.
B.     Committed Christians (Col. 3:2; Phil. 3:18-20).

VI. Serve others.
A.     Lukewarm members serve others when it is convenient.
B.     Committed Christians (Mt. 5:43-47; Lk. 14:12-14).

VII. Worship God in spirit and in truth.
A.     Lukewarm members attend once a week because that is all that is expected of them to be a “good” Christian.
B.     Committed Christians (Isa. 29:13; Heb. 10:23).
