The Healthy Family
Introduction: 1. We need to have good health. 2. Families need to be strong and healthy. I. Good foundation. A. God is the place (Ps. 18:2). B. It is God who-watches over us (1 Pet. 3:12, 13; Ps. 3:3), gives (Ja. 1:17; 4:15), directs (Ps. 56:13) and is our moral basis. C. We need to invite God into our individual lives and homes (Ps. 127:1). II. Commitment to the family. A. The many distractions of today. B. Husbands and wives make vows to each other (Gen. 2:24; Mt. 19:6). C. To the family unit-to the children (Eph. 6:4). Time has a way of slipping away (Col. 4:5)>1 Sam. 8:3. III. Has the ability to cope with crisis. A. Crises will come (Job. 3:26). B. Examples: death, sickness, financial crises, parenting issues, job loss, etc. C. Christians walk by faith (2 Cor. 5; Believe in the power of God (Eph. 3:20; Ps. 46:1-2). Do what can-God will get you through. D. How to cope with a crisis: 1. Identify the crisis. 2. Go through and find all the options. 3. Pray. 4. Look at your options. 5. Plan 6. Move forward. IV. Good communications. A. What is communications? B. Why we do not always communicate well. C. How to improve our communications.
