Introduction:
1. Are you still looking for the “right” gift?
2. Have you found the “perfect” gift?
3. Here are some gifts that you can give every day.
I. Praise.
A. Mark Twain said he could live two months on one compliment.
B. Jesus: Heard (Mt. 3:17) and gave (Luke 7:9, 29) praise.
C. We would do well to remember (Heb. 3:13; Eph. 4:29).
II. Gratitude.
A. Often overlooked. Many have a feeling of entitlement. These are “magic” words.
B. Remember Lk. 17:17; Eph. 5:20; 1 Thes. 5:18.
C. What gratitude accomplishes:
III. Attention.
A. Who doesn’t like attention? It makes us feel valued, loved, and accepted.
B. A most precious gift.
C. Remember Jesus (Mt. 9:20f.; 19:14; Jn. 4:1).
IV. Inspiration.
A. It is easy to discourage people. Remember Numbers 13:26-33.
B. Barnabas (Acts 13:1; 11:22-24; Dt. 3:28; Isa. 35:3, 4; Rom. 14:9; Heb. 10:24)
C. Plant seeds of courage and action in the hearts of others.
V. Consideration.
A. Put self in their place.
B. Go the extra mile (Mt. 5:38f.).
VI. Presence.
A. A tremendous gift. I’m glad you came.
B. We can refresh the spirits of others (2 Tim. 1:16-18), build confidence, show concern.
Conclusion:
In 100 years from now what will matter?
