We Are Loved
Introduction: 1. A great need for man is the need to be loved. 2. The Bible reminds us that God loves us. No matter what we should never forget this great truth. I. God is love. A. The Bible gives us a great affirmation (1 Jn. 4:8, 16). This is God’s nature. It is not an attribute or an impulse. Rather, it is a deliberate choice. God seeks the welfare and benefit of all. (1 Jn. 3:16-18; Rom. 5:8; Eph. 2:4; Ps. 146:8). B. Affirmation number 2. God’s love is directed (Eph. 3:18, 19). Remember John 3:16? We might ask (Job. 7:17). God’s love is free, spontaneous, not evoked, and uncaused. II. He has shown us His love (1 Jn. 4:16). A. It is expressive. He has not just felt His love for us. Rather, God has shown us His love. B. God points to Calvary (1 Jn. 3:16; 4:9-10). God could have given an angel, a preacher, some historical figure, but look what he gave. He gave his unique, one of a kind, only one of its kind- son (John 3:16). C. God may profess His love but He did more (1 Jn. 4:9; Titus 3:4-8). D. Expressed it by the gift of His son (Rom. 5:8-10; 1 Pet. 1:18, 19). Ultimately (1 Jn.4:14). III. God truly manifest His love toward us day by day (Ps. 23). I will not want…. A. Provisions (verse 2). (Acts 17:25; Phil. 4:19). B. Piloting (verse 3). (Jer. 10:23; Isa. 40:11). C. Protection (verse 4). (Prov. 15:3; 1 Cor. 10:13). D. Plenty (verse 5). Not a free meal but does provide ( Mal. 3:10: 2 Chron. 31:10). E. Providence (verse 5). See beforehand. (Ecc. 7:8; Rom. 8:28; Ps. 121:4). F. Lam. 3:23. Conclusion: God will show His love on the day of judgment. God will welcome us in (1 Jn. 2:25). Because Of His Grace Entered on 2/28/2010
