Our God Is Able
Introduction: 1. We live in an uncertain time. 2. God is the same. 3. We can get through life thanks to the unchanging nature of God. 4. Because of His grace God does not… I. Grow tired. A. Promise (Isa. 40:28). B. Problem. We put a lot of things on God. We put what we have into His hands. We expect a lot from Him. Yes, He did ask for it (1 Chron. 16:11). C. Praise God. He does not grow tired-others do (Isa. 40:30). He has great patience (1 Pet. 3:20; 2 Pet. 3:9). He gives strength (Isa. 40:31). II. Take a job that He can not complete. A. Promise (Jer. 32:17). B. Problem: Man puts limits upon God. C. Praise God for what he is able to do (Jude 24; Eph. 3:20; 2 Cor. 9:8; Heb. 7:25). III. Break a promise. A. Promise: (Ps. 89:34). B. Problem: We feel God is not always present. C. Praise God: God has promised us. His promises are sure (Rom. 4:21). He has made promises that he has kept (Noah>ark, David, etc.), is keeping (1 Cor. 10:13; Isa. 58:11; Heb. 13:5, 6; 2 Cor. 1:3, 4; 1 Jn. 5:14). There are promises he will keep (Heb. 11:19; Ja. 1:12). IV. Abandon anyone. A. Promise: (Dt. 31:6). B. Problem: We do not always act like we should. How would we react? Ramifications if He does. C. Praise God: He is faithful (1 Sam. 12:22; 1 Thes. 5:24; 2 Cor. 4:8f.). Conclusion: 1. God may not be able to do these things but aren’t you thankful? Because Of His Grace Entered on 3/14/2010
