God Is Good

Introduction:
1.      To say that God is good seems to be redundant.
2.     God is the fountain of al blessings.
3.     God is good. It is seen…

I.      In his instruction of sinners.
A.      God’s will. Ideal (2 Pet. 3:9; Mt. 18:14), circumstantial, and ultimate (Mt. 7:21).
B.     God’s desire-save those who wish to be saved (Acts 2:40; 2 Thes. 2:13, 14; 1 Thes. 5:9). Note: Man must obey God’s will.
C.     Characterization of the sinner.
D.     But God loves every sinner (Rom. 5:8; Eph. 2:4, 5).
E.     He has done what he will to bring each one to His way (Eph. 1:9; 1 Jn. 4:9).

II.      Manifestation of His loving kindness.
A.      God is love (1 Jn. 4:8).
B.     God gives (Ps. 25:13). Remember 1 Chron. 4:10.
C.     God blesses (Dt. 7:7).
D.     His kindness is daily (Lam. 3:23), abundant (Mal. 3:10), and sustaining (Acts 17:28).
E.     Ps. 103:11.

III.      Standing with the truth.
A.      God’s will is truth (Jn.17:17).
B.     His way is straight and narrow.
C.     God never leads us in the wrong direction (Ps. 73:24). False teachers (2 Pet. 2:1), their work (1 Tim. 1:6-7). Try them (1 Jn. 4:1). Remember God? (Ps. 18:30).

IV.      Willingness to forgive.
A. Reality of sin. Many feel guilt, feel it to be a mistake, misstep, slights, something to
laugh at/about, joke about. But to God sin is rebellion (Ps. 32:1, 2; 51:2).
B. God is willing/able/and does forgive (Ps. 85:2; Mic. 7:18). His
forgiveness is abundant (Mk. 3:28), complete (Ps. 103:12; Jer. 33:8; Isa.
43:25).

Conclusion:
     Ps. 40:5
Because Of His Grace
